One of the indicators used to determine chronic energy deficiency in mothers is upper arm circumference <23.5cm. The impact of LBW on children's growth is the occurrence of stunting. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between chronic energy deficiency and low birth weight babies at the Public Health Center Kambaniru, East Sumba. This study employed quantitative analysis with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was 29 respondents recruited from medical record data of pregnant women who gave birth to LBW babies. Data were analyzed using the Spearman's Rho correlation technique test. Findings indicated that the majority of 19 respondents (65.5%) with CED gave birth to children with LBW conditions, while 10 respondents (34.5%) without CED also gave birth to LBW babies. The Spearman's Rho test results indicated a significant positive correlation between mothers with CED and LBW babies. The lower the upper arm circumference of a pregnant woman, the higher the risk of giving birth to a LBW baby. It is expected that pregnant women will always carry out regular health checks during pregnancy and consume sufficient nutritious food.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://jurnal.stikesbanyuwangi.ac.id/index.php/WMJ/article/view/333Ekstrak Daun Sirih Merah (Piper Crocatum) Efektif Menghambat Bakteri Staphylococcus Aureus: Uji In Vitro2024-06-13T08:18:54+00:00Dyah Istining Tyasdtyas1006@gmail.comIndria Nurainiindria@unipasby.ac.idAnnah Hubaedahannahhubaedah03@gmail.com
Alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins are some of the antibacterial components found in the red betel (Piper crocatum). The aim of this study was to compare the antibacterial inhibitory power of red betel leaf (Piper crocatum) extract with cefadroxil against staphylococcus aureus and determine how well the extract inhibits bacterial growth in vitro using the diffusion method. An in vitro laboratory experiment with a true experimental post-test only control group design was the design used for this research. It was found that 30% (16.3mm) and 45% (16.8mm) concentrates had a strong resistance response, while 60% (18.8mm) and 100% (22.1mm) concentrates had the inhibitory response is very strong. In the positive control group, the inhibitory power was found to be 30.6mm, which shows that the inhibition zone formed was larger than in all red betel leaf extract treatments. All treatment group data were normally distributed, according to the results of statistical analysis in homogeneity and normality tests (p>0.05). Staphylococcus aureus grows more slowly and in fewer numbers when the red betel leaf extract content is greater. To determine the level of safety and toxicity, further studies on the antibacterial properties of red betel leaf extract in vivo are needed.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://jurnal.stikesbanyuwangi.ac.id/index.php/WMJ/article/view/340Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan Melalui Media Booklet Terhadap Pengetahuan dan Sikap PPIA Pada Ibu Hamil2024-06-29T09:54:55+00:00Anis Nikmatul Nikmahanisnikmatul@unik-kediri.ac.idMeirna Eka Fitriasnanimeirnaeka@unik-kediri.ac.idLindha Sri Kusumawatilindhasri@unik-kediri.ac.idFithri Rifatul Himmahfithri@unik-kediri.ac.id
PPIA (Prevention of HIV-Transmission from Mother to Child) is one of the efforts to control HIV-AIDS and STIs in pregnant women. Data from Kediri City in 2023, from the target of 263 pregnant women, 248 people checked PPIA and there was 1 pregnant woman who was HIV positive. The low coverage of pregnant women is forced to do an examination because this is a mandatory program that must be done. The purpose of this study was to determine the Effect of Health Education through Booklet Media on PPIA Knowledge and Attitudes in Pregnant Women. This research method is a pre-experimental, one group pretest-postest design design. Population of all pregnant women who visited the health center with the number of invinite. The research sample was 30 respondents. Sampling technique with Acidental Sampling. Research location at Puskemas Ngletih Kediri City in January 2024 Data collection through questionnaires to obtain primary data. Test research analysis with Wilcoxon test. The results showed that after being counseled, most of the knowledge was sufficient by 16 respondents (53.3%) and most of the attitudes were positive by 22 respondents (73.3%). Based on the Wilcoxon test on knowledge obtained PValue 0.000<α 0.05) while in the attitude P Value 0.012<α 0.05 which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. From the results of the study, it was concluded that there is an influence of health education through booklet media on the knowledge and attitudes of PPIA in pregnant women. Health workers are expected to always strive to provide socialization and motivation to pregnant women so that the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women about PPIA prevention will increase.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://jurnal.stikesbanyuwangi.ac.id/index.php/WMJ/article/view/339Pijat Tui Na Meningkatkan Berat Badan Bayi Usia 6-12 Bulan2024-06-26T23:50:18+00:00Marquita Da Silva Ximenesikun.ximenes01@gmail.comRetno Setyo Iswatiretnoiswati@unipasby.ac.idDesta Ayu Cahya Rosyidadesta@unipasby.ac.id

Infancy is an important period for growth and development.
