https://jurnal.stikesbanyuwangi.ac.id/index.php/WMJ/article/view/735

In 2020, the incidence of bleeding in Indonesia was 28.7%, caused by anemia in pregnant women. Anemia can increasei thei risk of preterm labor, low birth weight, and even maternal and infant mortality. Anemia is influenced by various factors, including maternal age, gestational agei, parity, education level, occupation, knowledge, and nutritional status. This study aims to determinei factors associated with anemia among pregnant women at thei Kalijaga Community Health Center in Cirebon City in 2025. This study uses an observational analytical design with cross-sectional design. There are maternal age, gestational age, parity, education, employment, nutritional status, knowledge of anemia incidence in pregnant women at Puiskeismas Kalijaga, Cirebon City in 2025. It is hoped that health workers, cadres or families will help increase the interest of pregnant women so that they want to participate in counseling activities both in pregnant women's classes, community health centers or integrated health posts (Posyandu) to provide health education in an effort to prevent anemia and improve maternal and infant health.
Eka RatnasariAinaya Rizki Nur AmaliaNurhasanahErni Ratna Suminar

https://jurnal.stikesbanyuwangi.ac.id/index.php/WMJ/article/view/731

Women entering the perimenopausal and menopausal phases usually experience hot flushes or sudden sensations of heat. The WHO reports the prevalence of hot flushes is estimated at 75% to 85%. One intervention for perimenopausal women with hot flushes is providing foods or drinks rich in phytoestrogens, such as soy milk, which contains isoflavones that can reduce the intensity of hot flushes. This study aimed to determine the effect of soy milk consumption on hot flush symptoms in perimenopausal women in the Mojopanggung Community Health Centre working area in 2025. The study was conducted over 14 days using a non-equivalent pre-posttest with control group design. The study population consisted of 60 perimenopausal women. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling. The bivariate test used was the Mann–Whitney test. Instruments included observation sheets and a hot flush diary measurement tool. Results in the intervention group showed moderate and severe hot flushes before the intervention and mild and moderate categories after the intervention; the control group remained in the moderate and severe categories. The Mann–Whitney test yielded a p-value < 0.001, indicating that soy milk had an effect on hot flush symptoms in the intervention group. This study is expected to improve the standard of care for perimenopausal women experiencing hot flushes in the Mojopanggung Community Health Centre working area. It is hoped that midwives can help reduce hot flushes by providing complementary soy milk intake.
Gita Taris AlvionitaIndah KurniawatiRenita Rizkya Danti

https://jurnal.stikesbanyuwangi.ac.id/index.php/WMJ/article/view/677

Nutrition provided through breast milk (ASI) has substantial implications for the quality of a child's development. Observations conducted in the Postpartum Ward of Klungkung Regional Hospital indicate that some breastfeeding mothers do not provide colostrum to their babies, this occurs quite frequently. Factors underlying the lack of colostrum include knowledge, education, and family support. This study is an analytical survey study with a cross-sectional design. Respondents were 80 postpartum mothers selected using a purposive sampling technique at Klungkung Regency Hospital during the period March-April 2025. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Univariate analysis focused on frequency distribution, while bivariate analysis used the Spearman Rank test. The results showed that the majority of respondents showed a sufficient level of knowledge (66 mothers (82.5%), a high school education background (66 mothers (82.5%), and family support was considered sufficient (50 mothers (62.5%). Statistical analysis using the Spearman Rank Test obtained a value of 0.001 (p <0.05). These results indicate a significant correlation between maternal knowledge, education, and family support levels and the practice of providing colostrum on the first day of birth in the postpartum ward at Klungkung District Hospital. Healthcare workers are expected to routinely provide education and counseling to breastfeeding mothers to improve colostrum provision on the first day of birth.
Ari Sita DewiNi Made NurtiniNi Komang Sri Ariani

Proper breastfeeding is an essential physiological practice for the health of mothers and babies, especially in the early stages of life. However, successful breastfeeding is not only determined by timing, but also by the mother's knowledge, experience, and skills in applying proper breastfeeding techniques. This study aims to describe continuous midwifery care for Mrs. S through the application of breastfeeding techniques from pregnancy to the postpartum period as a lactation preparation effort. The uniqueness of this study lies in the application of education and demonstration of breastfeeding techniques continuously across midwifery service periods and objective evaluation using several assessment instruments. The care was provided in Simataniari Village, Hasundutan District, North Sumatra, in 2025, covering the final trimester of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborn, neonate, and family planning services. The results showed a significant increase in mothers' knowledge (score of 10 to 16), breastfeeding self-efficacy based on BSES-SF (score of 36 to 59), breastfeeding skills based on LATCH scores (score of 6 to 10), and understanding of breastfeeding techniques (score of 23 to 39). No complications such as sore nipples or breast engorgement were found during the lactation process. These findings indicate that support combined with education and demonstrations of breastfeeding techniques is effective in supporting a comfortable, safe, and sustainable lactation process. The application of this method is recommended as a strategy to increase breastfeeding success in midwifery services.
Naomi Rawatina DongoranIslah Wahyuni

https://jurnal.stikesbanyuwangi.ac.id/index.php/WMJ/article/view/692

Dysmenorrhea is one of the disorders often experienced by adolescent girls during menstruation, which is characterized by pain in the lower abdomen. Non-pharmacological treatment of dysmenorrhea, one of which is by using lemon aromatherapy containing limonene compounds that can inhibit the work of prostaglandins and provide a relaxing effect. This study aims to determine the effect of lemon aromatherapy on the intensity of dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent at the Nurul Qoni’ Dormitory, Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Sukorejo Situbondo Islamic Boarding School. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 60 people, divided into intervention and control groups, each consisting of 30 people. Pain measurement was carried out using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). The results showed that the average pain scale before the intervention in the intervention group was 3.67 and after the intervention decreased to 0.53. in the control group, the average pain only changed slightly from 4.10 to 2.87. the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test statistical test showed p value = 0.000 (p<0.05), which means that there is a significant effect of lemon aromatherapy on reducing the intensity of dysmenorrhea pain. The conclusion of this study is that lemon aromatherapy is effective in reducing dysmenorrhea pain and can be used as an alternative non-pharmacological therapy for adolescent girls.
Zahrotun Naqiyah Sabrina PutriNeny Yuli SusantiEliyawati
