Abstract

Semboro Village, Semboro District, Jember Regency, has the potential for sugarcane bagasse waste that has not been optimally utilized, thus causing environmental problems and lost economic opportunities. The JAWARA (Environmentally Friendly Residents' Mushrooms and Fertilizer) program aims to empower the community to process sugarcane waste into environmentally friendly mushroom cultivation media and organic fertilizer. This activity is carried out through outreach, discussions, practical demonstrations, and direct mentoring for residents. The program results show an increase in community understanding and skills in sugarcane waste processing, edible mushroom cultivation practices, and organic fertilizer production. This program also encourages economic independence and environmental awareness among residents, while also serving as a model for community-based innovation that can be replicated in other areas. Thus, JAWARA makes a real contribution to sustainable agriculture, community empowerment, environmentally friendly local resource management, and supports food security at the village level
