Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of humanistic theory in puberty topics to foster deep learning among fifth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri Selopuro 05. The primary issue addressed is the excessive anxiety, shame, and perceived taboos still prevalent among rural students facing puberty. Such psychological conditions often hinder their depth of understanding regarding the physical and emotional changes they experience. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data collection instruments include participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and student self-reflection journals. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, systematic data presentation, and drawing credible conclusions. The results indicate that applying humanistic principles, such as empathy, unconditional positive regard, and the creation of safe spaces significantly enhances students' psychological comfort. This inclusive environment serves as a primary catalyst for deep learning. Students do not merely memorize the biological aspects of puberty but are able to interpret these changes holistically and responsibly, aligned with local wisdom. The integration of this humanistic approach has proven effective in strengthening the Profil Pelajar Pancasila (Pancasila Student Profile), particularly in the dimensions of independence and nobility of character toward oneself.
