Physical education plays a vital role in shaping students' character, health, and skills. In the context of relay races, learning motivation is a crucial factor determining success in the activity. This study was motivated by the prevalence of conventional or monotonous instruction, likely stemming from a lack of up-to-date teaching methods and a limited variety of instructional models. The study aimed to determine the impact of a "fun game" model based on a modified relay race on enhancing students' learning motivation in physical education (PJOK). An experimental method was employed, utilizing a quantitative approach and a pretest-posttest control group design. The study population consisted of 328 students, with a sample of 34 students divided into experimental and control groups; simple random sampling was used for selection. Data collection instruments included questionnaires, tests, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using a t-test with the aid of SPSS. The results showed a higher average posttest score (92.1765) compared to the pretest score (68.2353). The t-test results indicated a calculated t-value of 18.042, with degrees of freedom (df) = 16 and a significance level (2-tailed) of 0.001 (p < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the "fun game" model based on a modified relay race has a significant positive effect on students' learning motivation in physical education. This modified "fun game" approach serves as an effective alternative instructional strategy for physical education, particularly for relay race lessons.
